What is Newcomers?
Newcomers started in Canada in 1961 as a club for women in Calgary. The club has as its focus social engagements. Newcomers rapidly expanded from that beginning and we have over 50 clubs across Canada. Newcomers Clubs are still about connecting new people to their community but now there are co-ed clubs as well as men’s only clubs in certain cities.
National Newcomers Association of Canada
National Newcomers Association of Canada (NNAC) is an organization for Newcomer Clubs across Canada. It provides advice, guidance, and general information to its member clubs. Being a member of NNAC also gives us access to an affordable comprehensive insurance program through the Cooperators.
London Newcomers’ Alumnae Club
London Newcomers’ Alumnae Club was established in 1982 and has served the London area ever since. Focused on fun, activities, and social engagement, our members enjoy many diverse activities and each other’s company. In 2017, LNAC expanded its membership rules to include women who were new to a new phase of life such as retirement. Among Friends London is still a newcomers club, but its expanded membership rules allow more people looking for social engagement and activities.
