Menus & Venues For 2024!

Happy Holidays! January socials have traditionally had very low turnout, post Christmas festivities. In recognition of this, we did not schedule a club social for January. But we have Hillside Restaurant organized for February and Pickle Barrel will be our March restaurant venue. We are also happy to announce a special joint dinner is being organized with our sister club, London Newcomers Club, for April 11 at West Haven. And we have secured Greenhills for May 9 and Riverbend for June 13. These upcoming dinners have been priced at ~$50 each; pricing includes room rental and the meal plus tip and tax. The speaker or entertainment fee and door prizes are covered by the club. We hope that offering a mix of formal and casual dining will help members budget for the more expensive formal events.

Menus & Venues…what to expect for 2023-24

Our November restaurant lunch at Four Points Sheraton. Our Christmas lunch will be at the Highland. Venues for 2024 formal social are still being finalized but we hope to secure the Hellenic Centre, River Bend GCC, and Greenhills GCC. Additional restaurant options include Pickle Barrel, Palasad Socialbowl and Hillside. We know that members are very price-sensitive. Venue pricing includes room rental and the meal which includes tip and tax. The cost of the speaker or entertainment is covered by the club. It is impossible to negotiate lower prices in these new times. We hope alternating between formal and casual dining will help members budget for the more expensive formal events. Contact Suzanne (sbwelsh@robarts.ca; 519.872.5631) if you have ideas to share.

New Website & Business Cards

Our new domain name is www.amongfriendslondon.ca.
This new website has a members-only area where we have club documents available including the newsletter, photos, and an events/calendar section. We hope you like the new website and member page which you can access with password LnAc2023. This website can expand, and we will look into other member-only pages based on feedback. With this new website, we have printed new business cards which will be available at our events for you to take and give to friends or neighbours interested in joining the club.
